The idea behind the Chain Workshop was simple. Originally created in 2009 to deliver bespoke, in-house built Attachment Chain, over the years additional machinery has been added making Donghua one of only a few chain manufacturers to have such technical capabilities direct in the UK.

The workshop, based at Donghua UK’s Wolverhampton headquarters, offers:

Chain Cutting: standard Donghua chain can be modified to the exact length required, ensuring a perfect fit for any machine as well as minimising waste. The two automated machines deliver higher volumes and a reduction in lead times.

Custom Attachments: the workshop can fabricate and fit attachments, making sure chains meet the exact specifications for their intended application.

Bespoke Chain: Our team of experienced engineers work directly with customers to design bespoke chains ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Chain Length Measuring: designed and built by Donghua, the chain length measuring machine is exceptionally accurate and measures to within 10 microns per metre.

Chain Pre-Loading: Pre-stretching of chain to eliminate initial elongation that is often found in built in-house Attachment Chain.

Matching Chain: The matching of chain ensures the positioning of more than two chains used in parallel are matched to within a close tolerance. The chain is supplied matched and tagged for fitting in sequence.

Chain Lubrication: The only chain manufacturer in the UK with its own hot dip lubrication bath, Donghua Attachment Chain is dipped in hot lubrication which penetrates into bearing areas leaving an oil deposit inside the chain. This results in the ultimate lubrication.
